What if your blog suddenly disappears one day. Don't consider this as a hypothetical situation. It has happened to me once. I logged into my account and my blog wasn't there. But fortunately, at that time, it was possible to directly contact the blogger support team. They took my case into account and fixed the problem within a week.
But luck is not always with you. And it is much difficult to contact blogger support these days. Visit the help center and see for yourself. They will wander you around the questions and groups and certain other blogs but never let you contact them directly. So why take risk?
In this post, I will tell you how to back up your blog so that if something happens in future, you are not harmed much. I will share 4 such ways.
#1. Blogger Settings
Yes. Blogger has this inbuilt feature now. You can import your blog to another blogger blog. And you can also export your blog to your computer's hard disk. View the settings tab and click on export.
A download button will appear which will download your blog to your computer. Your blog will be saved as an xml file. You can use your normal browser like firefox or chrome to view the file.
I like this method more that the one provided by blogger. Because it copies your blog to your hard disk as it is - even link by link. You can browse your entire blog offline as if you are viewing it online.
HTTrack Website Copier allows you to download your blog from the Internet to your computer, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images and other files. The software is completely free.
#3. Blog Collector
You can not only backup your blog with this tool, but also convert it inot a PDF file. You can also print it. But it works well only in case your template is a standard blogger template. otherwise you may encounter certain problems.
#4. Email Updates
This one is not really a backup method. But it also achieves the same objective. Either subscribe to your own blog via email or enter your email address in SETTINGS and then the subtab email. You will always be getting all your posts in your inbox. So there is a backup.
